Why use Cronus

The honest pitch, including the trade-offs. If this page does not describe you, Cronus might not be for you, and that is fine.

The problem

If you use AI seriously, you probably have: a chat tab for questions, a terminal for an agent or two, a browser tool somewhere, maybe a scheduled script. Each one is good. Together they are chaos - nothing shares context, nothing remembers, and you are the messenger carrying results between them.

What Cronus fixes

The deliberate choices

Local-first, no account

Cronus runs on your machine and serves only you. No sign-up, no telemetry, no cloud copy of your business. An orchestrator sees everything you do with AI; we think that thing should be unpluggable.

Free to actually use

With a free local model, chat, routing, and most features work without spending anything. Cloud models are an upgrade, never a requirement.

It never touches itself

Cronus does not self-update, does not check for updates, and does not phone home. New versions are installers you choose to run. Boring, predictable software you can trust with real work.

Honesty over polish

Fresh installs show gray "not connected yet" dots instead of fake green ones. Errors say what to do next. If an agent fails, you see the real output. We would rather look imperfect than lie to you.

None of those columns are wrong choices. A chat tab is great for questions. A single agent is great if you only need one. Cronus earns its place when you have several tools and are tired of being their messenger.

Who it is NOT for

The one-sentence case

You already own the agents; Cronus gives them one desk, one memory, and one honest dashboard, on hardware you control.
